In today’s news-cycle:
Mark Halperin apologizes for saying that Edwards thinks Obama is “kind of a pussy.”
So we’re now apologizing for conveying what someone else said? Shouldn’t Edwards apologize, if anything? Also, if he did say it, the voting public should know Edwards is distinctly un-macho himself. If you haven’t seen the hair video, you need to do it now.
Chris Matthews calls Clinton’s press people “kneecappers.”
Whether you’re an Obamacan or a Clintonista, it’s hard to debate his point that Hillary Clinton’s strategy has been to lob attacks on fellow Democrats from above. And now that she’s not above anymore, she has changed her strategy to attacking the press. Everything seems to be off-limits to the Clintons. But you can’t blame the media for everything. It’s not a thing, per se, but a chorus of disparate and diverging voices that are bound to produce more comments like “pimped out.” What Hillary Clinton’s team needs to do is issue a single-lined press release that says, “The comment was in extremely poor taste, and we have faith that the American people are turned off by it.” Simple – move on.
George Bush Sr. to endorse fellow octegenarian (not really) John McCain.
Rep. John Lewis endorses Obama. And then he doesn’t.
This really doesn’t mean that much for Obama either way, since he’s already got the black vote tucked neatly into his fold. It’s a story in a slow-story day. What Obama needs is Ohio people. Still, Jeff Zeleny, check your facts.
